About Pon

Working primarily with wool felt — where every act of shaping becomes a practice in slowing down.

Pon is a fiber artist working primarily with wool felt. Since beginning her creative journey in 2012, she has continued to explore the connection between material, form, and inner experience through the sculptural possibilities of wool.

Fourteen Years in Fiber

Over the past fourteen years, Pon has developed an artistic practice centered on wool felt, exploring the possibilities of fiber through three-dimensional form, character-based expression, and emotional storytelling. Her work often begins with observations from daily life, personal reflection, and lived experience, which are then transformed into tactile forms with warmth and individuality.

In 2020, she collaborated with Italian wool brand DHG on the Tentacle Monster series, and in 2023 participated in the felt art exhibition Healing Realm at Miaobei Art Center in Taiwan. Driven by a commitment to refining her craft and exploring new perspectives, she continues to expand her creative practice through ongoing learning both locally and abroad.

ARTISTIC PHILOSOPHY

Making is how I slow down.

Pon is drawn to wool felt for its openness and versatility. Soft yet highly transformable, it allows endless possibilities in shape and expression. For her, making is not only about finishing a piece, but slowing down and entering a state of flow.

Through shaping and adjusting, each work becomes a reflection of inner feeling. Creating is both self-exploration and a way of engaging with the world — guided always by curiosity and imagination.

Teaching Philosophy

Through making, people reconnect with focus, confidence, and the possibility of creating.

Alongside her studio practice, Pon has long devoted herself to teaching and sharing the creative possibilities of wool felt. For her, teaching is not simply about technique, but about helping people experience focus, build confidence, and reconnect with their own creativity through making.

She believes creativity is not reserved for a few, but something anyone can gradually grow closer to. Whether in different classrooms, throughout the making process, or in the moment a student completes a piece of their own, her hope is to help more people experience the sense of fulfillment and inner calm that handmaking can bring.
